In business since 1988, come visit us and see why we have become Southern New England’s favorite ski and snowboard shop.
We opened “Village Ski and Sports” in the fall of 1988. At that time, we were a year-round specialty store carrying an eclectic mixture of equipment and apparel. At some point in our first twelve years, we carried beachwear; sailboards; water skis; running shoes; soccer and baseball equipment; tennis and racquetball equipment; and lots and lots of t-shirts. In 2000, we grew large enough to build our own building. On New Year’s Eve, with the help of dedicated employees, loyal customers, and friends, we moved into our new location.
On January 2, 2001, we reopened for the rest of the season as “Village Ski & Snowboard” (the name change reflecting the surge in snowboarding interest).
In 2022, Rich and Nancy passed the business along to their son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Kaelah. Keith grew up in the family business, quite literally, as he spent years of his childhood hanging around the shop – sometimes helping, and sometimes wreaking havoc. Observing his family deal with the challenge of running a business AND watching over a mischievous child turned out to be an invaluable guide in how to run a business. Kaelah came to the shop in 2016 from working in the ICU at Good Samaritan in Brockton, so her experience in a fast pace work environment, along with maintaining inventory and other administrative duties allowed her to step in easily. Together, they have two daughters and a dog, all three of which have become the new generation “helping out” at the Village Ski.
Service remains a top priority. We believe one of the best indicators of a good retailer is how far customers will travel for your goods and services. We are always pleased to see that our reputation brings in people from all over the world.
We look forward to many more years of servicing our customer’s ski and snowboard needs.
Thank you for your loyal support of our store.
